Delroy Gordon, executive director of the Jamaica Cultural Development Commission (JCDC), has died.

News reports say that Gordon died suddenly this morning.

It is reported that he had earlier complained about a headache.

Gordon was appointed JCDC executive director in 2013.

He joined the commission in 1987 as the cultural organiser for the parish of St Mary.

Within two years of his employment, he was promoted to parish manager and later, regional manager and director of field services.

Efforts to get a comment from the public relations office of the JCDC were futile as LOOP News was told that “everyone is locked in a meeting”.
