VYBZ KARTEL RACKS UP 700,000 VIEWS IN ONE WEEK

After only one week, Vybz Kartel has racked up monster numbers, registering almost 800,000 plus spins on the video for Fever, the first single from the deejay’s King of the Dancehall album.

The accompanying video has racked up an impressive had more than 700,000 plus views on YouTube.

The raunchy video was directed by Jay Will and Game Over features a girl in heat because of her lust-induced dreams. The talented deejay speaks gypsy in the video, saying provocative things that cannot be repeated here. There is also a controversial scene where a scammer wakes up a girl to collect his illicit lottery scamming money. 

King of the Dancehall was made available for pre-order on May 6 exclusively on iTunes. Distributed by Zojak World Wide, the album will be available exclusively to Apple Music subscribers on June 3, the same day the third instant-gratification track, Colouring This Life, will be offered in the iTunes store.

Apple Music will offer exclusive streaming one week before the 14-track album is available for download June 10, a service usually reserved for major label artistes.

King of the Dancehall contains never before released tracks from Vybz Kartel, all recorded by the prolific artiste before his incarceration. The album is a collaborative effort between Adidjahiem Records and TJ Records.

Over the years, Vybz Kartel has created a strong following with his creative and ingenious lyrics, and he shows no signs of slowing down now. The album is also featured in the May edition of Echoes Magazine, which that focuses on the music of black entertainers, and has had artistes like Michael Jackson, Samm Henshaw and Angie Stone on its covers. Jackson, who died in 2009, was the featured artiste on it’s 40th-anniversary edition in February.
