SHARP SCORES VIDEO HIT WITH ‘BIZ’

 

US-based dancehall-reggae artiste Sharp is now in the island to promote his new video entitled ‘Biz’.   This video has been enjoying heavy rotation on  commercial and internet radio stations and hit #5 on the CVM Hitlist On The Rise charts this week.

Since his arrival in the island, Sharp, who is signed to BBK Entertainment, has done a couple of interviews on stations such as Suncity Radio.

“He will also be meeting with a few well-known producers on the island to do a few collaborations,” a publicist said in a release.

Sharp is currently working on his debut album schedule to hit all major outlets on July 2nd.

“It will be pre-July 4th so expect lot of fireworks. The next scheduled single which will be released is ‘Dreaming’ featuring Big Ship artist Laden, “ the publicist said.

Sharp has upcoming performances set for major North American cities such as  Toronto, Atlanta and New York. He plans to continue  releasing new music keeping his fan based entertained and engaged.

Born Oketto Chambers in St. Catherine, Jamaica, Sharp believes music was infused in his genetic makeup and has been taking risks with it ever since that discovery. He honed his skills performing at parties and dances and entering contests including Jamaica’s popular Tastee Talent Contest.

When he emigrated to the United States after completing high school in Jamaica in 1999, Sharp’s mother may have thought that was the end of his music interest, but it was only the beginning.  He enrolled at The College at Oneonta in upstate New York, and completed his Bachelor’s Degree in Music Industry and worked at Columbia Records in Strategic Marketing.

 

Armed not only with a talent but knowledge of the industry, Sharp, who plays the piano and writes all his songs, is now on the cusp of his breakout with his new and soon to be released album, “All or Nothing” on the BBK Entertainment label, a company started by Sharp and his cousin.

Three singles have been released thus far, “Money Right” and “the Weekend” and the “Biz” if the hype is anything to go by, this Jamaican artiste is one to watch.

 “Money Right” which Sharp describes as a hip, feel-good song, decries economic hardship and encourages you treat yourself. The song has enjoying heavy rotation in Florida, Atlanta ,New York and Connecticut.
