“It’s just a blessing to see how the people have been responding to the music because I make music for the masses to give them a voice to convey messages to the leaders about what they are feeling. I am on a musical mission to uplift my people,” he said.

The artiste showed that the ‘musical message’ is being delivered in no uncertain terms during a scintillating set at a reggae show in Bourbon Beach, Negril on Friday night. Backed by the Hyah Grade band, he ignited the audience with songs such as Gash Dem, and I Swear, before closing his well-received set with current chart-burners, Warning and It Hard. Other guest performers included Bingi Links, Chevaughn, and Angel Doolas.

Earlier this month, Chuck Fenda delivered an incendiary performance during the recent Dennis Brown Memorial on March 17th. The artiste known as the ‘Living Fire’ wowed the thousands of reggae fans who had converged on the downtown Kingston Waterfront for the concert with his full repertoire of songs. Dress in a full suit of red including red shoes, Fenda roared through songs such as ‘Like the River’, ‘Gash Dem’, ‘I Swear’, and ‘O My Lord’, each song earning thunderous forwards.

He did his favorite Dennis Brown song, ‘Should I Have faith in You’, and closed his set strongly with his latest hits, Warning and It Hard, the latter of which has become the anthem for the people. The appreciative audience waved their flags and thrust lighters in the air while shouting ‘gwaan Fenda gwaan’.

Chuck Fenda will be back in Negril on March 31st for ‘Escape Negril Fun Day’. The Living Fire is also a headliner at the Boston Jerk Festival on March 31st as well, after which he will be at the annual Kite festival on April 1st in St Ann, and then he is off to Brooklyn to perform at the ‘Easter Fest’ on the 13th of April.
