George Zimmerman, the bare faced American who walked free after killing teenage boy, Trayvon Martin, is making headlines again.

This time, it is because he has decided to auction the same firearm he used to rid the youngster of his life.

Bidding in an online auction was up to $65 million Friday morning as Internet users  appeared to drive offer levels.

The most recent bid topping $65 million is by someone identified as Craig Bryant.

However, two websites on which Zimmerman attempted to auction his gun has since kicked him off.

The United Gun Group website hosted the auction after another website, GunBroker.com, withdrew bidding.

But United Gun Group’s auction was short lived as it was pulled from the website on the premise that the auction was not in the organisation’s best interest.

“Our site rules state that we reserve the right to reject listings at our sole discretion, and have done so with the Zimmerman listing,” the GunBroker statement said. “We want no part in the listing on our web site or in any of the publicity it is receiving.”

But CNN is reporting that Zimmerman moved the auction to another website, giving a different reason than GunBroker did.

“Unfortunately, (the site) was not prepared for the traffic and publicity surrounding the auction of my firearm,” Zimmerman said in a text. “It has now been placed with another auction house,” he stated.
