A man who escaped police custody while he was being treated at the Spanish Town hospital for a gunshot wound appeared in the Spanish Town Resident Magistrates’ court on Tuesday.

The accused, Kelly Harrison, allegedly escaped custody even though he was being monitored by two officers. He skilfully walked out of the institution without their knowledge.

“You seem to be in pain sir, are you sick?” the judge asked.

“Yes your honour I got shot and in pain,” the accused responded, his face a tightening mask of agony.

He was allowed to sit and his case will be mentioned on May 5, 2015.
