Dancehall superstar Macka Diamond has inked a two year management and recording deal with US-based independent label Sweet Music LLC.

“We are delighted to have Macka join the Sweet Music family.  This move makes sense both tactically and strategically for the brand, since she will be an integral component in achieving the goal of diversification of our musical portfolio. Macka is an established and dynamic artist, that has much more content to contribute to the dancehall musical experience. Consequently, Sweet Music will leverage all its resources to help re-establish Macka Diamond as one of dancehall’s most visible and productive stars,” Dr. Dave Wallace, CEO of Sweet Music LLC, said.

Macka Diamond’s latest single,  ’25 Inches’ single, on the Fornication riddim by Hitmaker Muzik label, has been doing well. The video which was released over four weeks ago has racked up thousands of views, and the song has been added to the rotation list of IRIE, ZIP, Mello FM and other radio stations.

Macka Diamond is looking forward to getting a career boost from the US-based independent label.

“I am happy to be a part of the Sweet Music family, and I am looking forward to a productive working relationship and get a more concentrated marketing push for my singles. The response has been crazy to the ’25 Inches’ song, and the video was just released in the Caribbean and Europe,” she said.

She will be embarking on a two week ‘Macka Diamond 25’ tour beginning on June 7th. One of the shows she will be performing on is the Roxborough Harvest at the Pirate Boat yard in Tobago.

The Money Goddess is also making waves with her latest hit, ‘Play Tune’ in Europe, where the video has racked up over 300,000 views on youtube over the last three months.

The ‘Play Tune’ song was inspired by a dub plate that she recorded for French broadcaster Marlon “DJ Coss” Young several years ago. The vocals were remixed by DJ Coss on a new Afro-beat and the song has been blowing up parties and clubs all over the French diaspora.

“The dub plate is called ‘Play Tune, Play Tune’ off my hit, ‘Done Already’ years ago. So DJ Cross decided to put the song on a beat that ah mash up the French islands and the bookings are coming in for the Summer in that region,” she said.
