M GEE STAKES HIS CLAIM AS THE NEXT BIG DANCEHALL FLOSSER

When it comes to flossing and high-end dancehall style, there are few artistes who are even in the same area code as M Gee.

 

 Known for his flashy rides and deep pockets, this fast-rising US-based dancehall act made his mark with singles such as the controversial No Tail, Back Pocket Hail and Prefer Cheap and Clean during the year.

 

“This year has been a great year for me, my songs have been doing well in Philly, New York and Florida, to the extent that my name is out there now among the top dancehall acts almost anywhere you go in the States,” he said.

 

He has carved out an enviable reputation as one of the up-and-comers on the high octane Philadelphia dancehall scene, and he is also making inroads in the local market. M Gee’s latest single, Di Gal Dem’ on the Afterlife Riddim for JA Productions, is generating a lot of heat on radio. Released three weeks ago, the advance buzz on the song has already convinced M Gee that he needs to shoot a video to maximize the Summer push.

 

“Big respect to Roach and Justus of JA Production, mi feel say this song pon the Afterlife riddim ah go be my big Summer smash this year. When yu check mi Twitter and Facebook, ah this song the fans dem ah feel,” M Gee said.

 

He recently  inked a booking deal with Free People Entertainment which manages his bookings in the Caribbean and the USA.

 

“M Gee has made some inroads into the US market among dancehall fans,  and he has been recording a number of songs to further secure secure a foothold on the local music scene. Promoters are feeling the Cheap N Clean song, people are getting to know his music, and with this latest song, anything can happen this Summer,” Tameka Reynolds of Free People Entertainment, said.

 

The trendy singjay  is also a brand ambassador for VTH Clothing in the US. Earlier this year, he performed at the annual Follow Di Arrow show in St. Mary and he also made a major appearance at the successful ‘Sting 2012’ concert last year in Jam World, Portmore.

At Sting 2012, he made quite an impression with songs life ‘Prefer Cheap & Clean’, and the controversial ‘Back Pocket Hail’.

He is looking forward to performing on a number of major events in Jamaica later this year.

“The Summer start look great already, right now, ah just more hits pon top of hits,” he said.
