A mother, Juliet McPherson pleaded not guilty to the charge of causing unlawful suffering to the health of a minor on Friday.

A mother, Juliet McPherson pleaded not guilty to the charge of causing unlawful suffering to the health of a minor on Friday.

Appearing before RM Lyle Armstrong in the Spanish Town RM Court, McPherson was said to have had her 5-year-old grandson in her care on March 10, 2015 and lit the stove and placed the child’s hand over the flames causing minor burns.

However, McPherson said, she left the child in the care of her older son who is 21 years old and went on the road and when she returned she saw her grandchild like that.

The case is set to be mentioned on May 12 where the medical certificate should be submitted.
