“I am a adventurous spirit and i have a unwavering determination.
i have a strong sense of justice, the captain of the Chubble Dem crew,” the young rhyme spitter responded.

Ijahmar is known for his dream of becoming a dancehall/ reggae artiste and becoming a legendary treasure in the genre.

“I am motivated by a deep desire for freedom and adventure ,embodying the essence of a carefree and optimistic attitude,” he said.

Ijahmar is equally skilled at singing and deejaying.

“This makes me a formidable fighter in lifes journey of music .My bravery often leads he into dangerous places,” he said.

However, he approaches challenges with a sense of humour and unshakeable belief in his friends and crew. Ijahmar is fiercely loyal and protective of his companions,often going to great lengths to ensure their safety.

Ijahmar has pinned his hopes on his latest single, ‘Not an Easy Road’, a soulful anthem about perseverance and resilience in the face of overwhelming odds.

“This song is a journey of self-discovery, it’s about overcoming obstacles, and a reminder that the only way I’m going to get anywhere in this life is through hard work…it’s really my transformation story,” Ijahmar said.

Released last week on the Chase Mills Records label, the single possesses powerful lyrics and a haunting melody that will connect with young fans because of its relatable and inspiring depiction of inner city life.

“The response to the song has been great. The fans, my friends in 5 West Greater Portmore, people ah repost it like crazy,” he said.

The single is the first release from his Resume EP which he will be dropping this fall. The EP features songs like Nuh Worry Me, All Eyes on Me, Dreams and Ting Mad. He plans to shoot videos for some of the tracks.

The central theme of the EP is the challenge of a youngster dealing with the pain, the struggle, frustration and desperation of growing up poor in the inner city. More than anything, though, it’s a snapshot of a hungry young man who is showing his resume to the world, to show that he belongs and deserves a shot to pursue his dreams.

“A lot of pain and frustration went into this EP, it was like therapy, putting my experiences out there for the world to hear and understand. The EP is my belief that inspiration and hope and hard work is the only way to be in this world,” Ijahmar said.

Born Ijahmar Robertson, he grew up in Rockfort, East Kingston. He was educated at the Norman Garden Primary and Junior High School and later graduated to the Edith Dalton James High School, where he discovered a love for music and started building his talent by the age of 15.

Ijahmar’s songs tackle social issues and matters of the heart, and are mixed with his optimistic philosophy that light exists in all things. He has been signed to New York-based record label One Hundred Degrees Records since 2018.

Other standout songs include Dreams and Thousand Reasons.
